Poulton-le-Fylde is blessed with a large number of excellent pubs. The Thatched House, next to the churchyard, is always busy, even on weekday evenings, and is highly recommended.

The pub has a good range of beers (including real ales) and lagers and an open fire in a snug area. There is an outdoor seating area and roof terrace which are nice in the summer months.
The bar staff are polite and friendly.
The main sporting events are usually shown on televisions in the main seating area.
The Thatched House does not serve food, except crisps etc. There are several restaurants close nearby, in Breck Road.
The only other thing the Thatched House lacks is a thatched roof. It used to have one, but the old pub was demolished and replaced in 1901.

The Thatched House is a ten-minute walk from Highcross Corner. If you prefer to drive, the Booth’s car park is close by and free of charge in the evening (free but max 3 hours during the day). You then just have a short walk past the churchyard to the pub.
